Contributor Agreement
Thank you for contributing to Byron Magazine.
This agreement outlines the terms relating to editorial contributions, photography, written content and creative submissions provided to Byron Magazine.
By submitting content to Byron Magazine, contributors agree to the following terms.
1. Ownership of Content
Contributors retain ownership and copyright of their original work unless otherwise agreed in writing.
By submitting content to Byron Magazine, the contributor grants Byron Magazine a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to:
publish the content on the Byron Magazine website
share the content across Byron Magazine social media channels
use the content in newsletters, promotional material and marketing
archive the content online indefinitely unless removal is agreed upon
This means contributors may still publish or use their work elsewhere unless exclusivity has been agreed in writing.
2. Contributor Warranties
Contributors confirm that:
the submitted work is their original work or they have permission to use all included material
the content does not infringe copyright, trademark or intellectual property rights
the content is not knowingly defamatory, misleading or unlawful
any individuals featured in submitted photography have granted permission where required
Contributors are responsible for ensuring accuracy of facts, quotes and permissions.
3. Editorial Rights
Byron Magazine reserves the right to:
edit submissions for clarity, style, grammar, formatting and length
adjust headlines, captions and excerpts
decline publication at its discretion
remove content from publication if required
Reasonable efforts will be made to preserve the intent and integrity of contributed work.
4. Photography and Image Use
Contributors submitting photography or imagery confirm they hold the rights or permissions necessary for publication.
Byron Magazine may resize or crop images for website or social media formatting purposes.
Photographers and creators will be credited where reasonably possible.
5. Payment
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, contributions to Byron Magazine are considered voluntary unpaid submissions.
Where payment, sponsored partnerships or commissioned work applies, separate written arrangements may be made.
6. Sponsored or Promotional Content
Contributors must disclose any commercial relationships, sponsorships, gifted experiences or paid partnerships relevant to submitted content.
Byron Magazine reserves the right to identify sponsored or promotional content where appropriate.
7. Removal Requests
Contributors may request corrections or discuss removal of content by contacting Byron Magazine directly.
Byron Magazine is not obligated to remove published content but will consider requests reasonably and respectfully.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Byron Magazine is not liable for any loss, damages or claims arising from contributed content or publication.
9. Acceptance of Terms
Submission of content to Byron Magazine constitutes acceptance of this Contributor Agreement.
