A New Home and a Winter Vibe for Byron Markets
Byron’s beloved monthly market kicks off at its new beachfront location this Sunday with a cosy winter edition by the sea.
The Byron Community Market is on this Sunday 6 July, settling into its temporary new home at Main Beach. It’s the perfect way to spend a crisp winter’s morning, by the ocean, surrounded by creativity, community and live local music.
Running from 8am to 2pm, the market will feature a vibrant mix of local stalls, handmade goods, ceramics, fashion, fresh food and a live music line-up featuring Resonant Hand, Pablo Laverde and Broadfoot, all set against the stunning beachfront backdrop.
“There’s something special about the market in winter,” says Carl Taylor, Byron Markets Manager. “People linger a little longer, have deeper conversations and enjoy their morning coffee with a view of the sea. The pace softens, but the feeling is just as vibrant.”
This will be the first market at the Main Beach site, following the temporary relocation due to Byron Shire Council’s drainage works in the town centre. The market will continue at this location on the first Sunday of every month for the duration of the works.
“We’ve worked closely with our stallholders to make sure the transition is smooth and everything feels familiar, just in a slightly different setting,” Taylor adds. “It’s the same market Byron knows and loves, just with a fresh sea breeze and a bit of that winter magic.”
Visitors can expect the same welcoming atmosphere the market is known for, with plenty of opportunities to browse, taste, listen and connect. Whether you’re shopping for locally made goods, enjoying the music or warming up with something tasty, this Sunday’s market is the perfect excuse to rug up and head outdoors.
