A new partnership with Aveda and Take 3 for the Sea has the Sulis Lifestyle Salon and Spa team leading a clean up event on the 7th of March at Main Beach, Byron Bay to raise awareness during the STOP Ocean Plastic Pollution Fundraiser and help Take 3 work with education, social and community groups nationwide to remove 1.5 million pieces of rubbish from our environment.

With a nationwide clean-up day on the 7th of March, Tahlia Pileggi (Owner of Byron's sustainable salon, Sulis) is calling on the community to sign up to join the clean-up event in Byron Bay.

By 2050 there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish and with an estimated 8 million tonnes of plastic entering the ocean every year, raising awareness and forming this partnership is more important than ever.

The eco-conscious hair care brand and Byron's sustainable salon's partnership to stop plastic pollution and remove 1.5 million pieces of rubbish.

"I'm excited to share with you a project that I'm very passionate about. This initiative is very close to my heart as many of you know I've worked hard over 5 years to transition Sulis into a sustainable and environmental friendly salon and spa. This year, to make a more meaningful impact, Aveda and Sulis are teaming up with Take 3 for the Sea in an effort to clean our most loved beach.

Take 3 for the Sea is an Australian charity whose mission is to encourage us to collect 3 pieces of rubbish in our most loved outdoor location to avoid unwanted items ending up in the ocean.

In Australia, we're sadly responsible for using: 5 billion single-use bottles, 70 billion pieces of soft plastics such as food wrappers and an estimated 7 million plastic utensils EVERY

Fortunately, in Byron Bay we're living in an environmentally conscious community and I feel proud to see very little rubbish when I walk along the beach in the afternoons. However, while the sand is mostly clear, when I venture into the sand dunes (thanks to Peño), I see a lot of rubbish amongst the scrub. I have no doubt when the tide is high this gets collected by the ocean and washed out into the sea.

I'm calling upon our local community to join myself and the team at Sulis along with Aveda and Take 3 for the Sea on Sunday, 7th March at 8:30am in an effort to clean up Main Beach.

Join us to make a difference and bring awareness to this worthwhile cause to STOP PLASTIC POLLUTION." - Tahlia Pileggi, Owner of Sulis Lifestyle Salon & Spa
