Brisbane Hypnotherapist Launches Transformative Mind-focused Wellness Retreats
Brisbane psychotherapist and clinical hypnotherapist Annelie Peusschers is expanding her practice with the launch of mind‐focused wellness retreats in the Byron Bay hinterland.
Designed for busy people seeking rapid, lasting change, the retreats offer immersive programs to reset the nervous system and create meaningful internal shifts in a few days.
With 17 years of clinical experience across psychology, neuroscience and mind body healing, Peusschers has developed an evidence-based approach integrating psychotherapy, somatic principles and therapeutic hypnosis.
Her work has already helped hundreds of clients overcome trauma, anxiety and burnout. She’s now making her services more accessible for busy people who want to see significant change in a short period of time.
“With hypnosis, you can reshape patterns that drive how you think. In intensive work we identify and release nervous system patterns driving anxiety and exhaustion, rather than just managing them.”
Her mind-focused retreats take place in the heart of picturesque Byron Bay hinterland surrounded by peaceful countryside and untouched bushland. Guests have access to a magnesium pool, infrared sauna, ice baths and an outdoor fire pit, ideal for nervous-system resetting.
“Nature and quiet aren’t luxuries, they’re therapeutic tools. The environment allows the body to shift into repair mode more quickly, leaving people clearer, calmer and more themselves - often after years of feeling stuck.”
Unlike retreats centred on yoga, fitness or massage, Peusschers’ programs focus on mental and emotional change. Through grounding somatic practices, nervous system regulation and group hypnosis, participants learn to release limiting beliefs and reframe their inner narratives.
“Hypnotherapy isn’t mysterious or controlling, it’s a natural, scientifically recognised state of focused attention. We enter hypnotic states every day when absorbed in a book, a movie or creative flow. My program ensures participants don’t just leave inspired, but recalibrated, with practical tools for sustainable clarity, resilience and flow.”
Peusschers’ path into hypnotherapy began during a difficult transition in her own life.
“I tried hypnosis out of curiosity, not expecting much - and it changed everything. I experienced deep nervous-system calm, clarity and a sense of internal steadiness that talk‐based approaches alone hadn’t given me. Freedom, to me, means choice in how you respond, feel, relate and live. Many people don’t realise this level of internal freedom is possible, but neuroscience tells us it is, at any age.”
