Byron Ballet Reimagines a Beloved Classic with Sleeping Beauty

Taking Place at Byron Theatre from May 9 – 11 May

Byron Ballet proudly presents a stunning new adaptation of one of the world’s most cherished tales, Sleeping Beauty. This original production weaves classical elegance with a fresh narrative twist, creating a rich and captivating experience for audiences of all ages at an affordable price.

In this reimagined telling, Princess Aurora is cursed by the powerful fairy Maleficent to die on her 16th birthday. Yet hope prevails when the Wisdom Fairy intervenes, transforming the curse into an enchanted sleep. Sleeping Beauty delves deeper into Maleficent’s motivations, exploring the emotional forces behind her thirst for revenge and offering a profound new dimension to the timeless story.

Accompanied by the iconic music of Tchaikovsky - with exquisite additions from Ravel and Dvořák - the production is a feast for the senses and an inspiring introduction to the art of storytelling through music and movement.

Audiences will be treated to performances by exceptional guest artists alongside the local talent of Byron Ballet. From the grace of classical choreography to the emotional depth of its characters, Sleeping Beauty promises to be a magical experience for the whole family.
