Byron Community Centre Seeks Relationships Manager to Strengthen Impact and Community Partnership

New leadership role to drive fundraising and partnerships, supporting vital community programs through a flexible, purpose-led position

The Byron Community Centre has announced a rare and meaningful opportunity to join its leadership team, with applications now open for the newly defined Relationships Manager position.

This permanent part-time role, based in Byron Bay, will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of community impact across the region.

Tasked with designing and delivering the organisation’s fundraising and partnership strategy, the Relationships Manager will lead donor engagement, philanthropic development and community campaigns, working closely with management and the communications team.

From our major donors to grassroots storytelling, while helping to shape a more compassionate future for Byron Bay.”

Located in the heart of town, the Byron Community Centre is home to multiple arts and social programs including Fletcher Street Cottage, Byron Theatre, Byron Markets, Byron Spaces and social inclusion programs like the Byron Seniors Club, all of which rely on sustainable funding and collaborative partnerships to thrive.

“This is more than a fundraising role,” says Damian Farrell, Manager of Fletcher Street Cottage. “It’s about building long-term relationships that create tangible change in people’s lives. We rely on donations and grants to sustain our community services at Fletcher Street Cottage. This role calls for someone with heart and vision, who understands that connection is the cornerstone of our Byron community.”

The Byron Community Centre is seeking applicants with a strong background in fundraising, partnerships or donor engagement, particularly within the not-for-profit sector. Experience with digital platforms, storytelling and stakeholder relationship-building is essential.

The Byron Community Centre is an independent charity and not-for-profit that receives no ongoing government funding and relies on donations and grants to offer community events, services and programs.

The role is offered at 30 hours per week across four days. Applications close 12 June 2025.
