Byron Markets Rally to Support Local Stallholders This Easter Weekend
With hundreds of visitors already in town for what would have been Bluesfest weekend, Byron Markets is calling on locals and visitors alike to come out and support the region’s small businesses across a special Easter long weekend line-up of markets.
While the festival may not be going ahead, many of the much-loved stallholders who would usually trade at Bluesfest will still be bringing their offerings to Byron Markets, alongside the region’s favourite local artisans, makers and food vendors. Visitors can expect a vibrant mix of local creativity and familiar festival favourites, including handcrafted pieces, fashion, street food and unique finds for this iconic weekend across three markets: Beachside, Twilight and Community.
When plans change, the community shows up. Byron Markets brings locals and visitors together this Easter long weekend.
Market goers can discover standout stalls who were going to trade at Bluesfest such as homemade fashion stall Fairtale, alongside beloved local favourites including The Knicker Parlour and The Feather Lady. They will be joined by visiting traders who are regulars of the Bluesfest weekend circuit, including Sita's Fusion Flavours, Blu Cosmos and Butterfly 68.
“Byron Markets has always been about community and this weekend is a chance to really show up for the people behind the stalls,” said Natwah Petruszka, Community Market Coordinator & Byron Markets Assistant Manager. “With so many visitors already here, we’re encouraging everyone to come down, explore the markets, enjoy the atmosphere and support the small businesses that make this region so special.”
Kicking things off on Easter Friday, the artisan only Byron Beachside Market sets the tone for the weekend, with waves rolling in as you browse handmade ‘make it, bake it, sew it, grow it’ stalls, enjoy delicious food and take in live tunes from Hayley Grace, Guy Kachel and Mark Easton.
As Easter Saturday night rolls in, the Byron Twilight Market transforms Railway Park from 4pm to 9pm, with live music to get your feet tapping and your head moving. Hayley Grace will keep you entertained throughout the evening.
Round out the weekend on Easter Sunday at the Byron Community Market, where the fun continues with more free live music. If you are feeling the blues, get on your dancing shoes with The Happy Africa Band, Mark Chapman and Cos Micos, lifting your spirits as you boogie on down in Byron.
So if you’ve got the blues this Easter long weekend, Byron Markets are ready to lift your spirits with free live music, great food and plenty to explore from Byron’s makers and creators.
