Byron Theatre wins Creative Champions Excellence in Arts and Creativity at Uniquely Byron Business Awards 2025

Byron Theatre has been named the Creative Champions Excellence in Arts and Creativity winner at the Uniquely Byron Business Awards 2025, the annual celebration of innovation, creativity and community impact run by the Byron Bay Chamber of Commerce.

The award recognises organisations that make an outstanding contribution to the creative life of the Byron Shire. Byron Theatre was selected for its diverse year round programme of theatre, live music, dance, film, festivals and talks, and for its role in supporting both emerging and established artists across the region. As a not for profit social enterprise operated by Byron Community Centre, the theatre also reinvests revenue into cultural projects and community services, strengthening its impact beyond the stage.

Kate Love, Communications Manager at Byron Community Centre, said:

This acknowledgement highlights the passion and care we bring to every performance, screening and community driven event we stage. Our aim is to offer a space where artists can shine and audiences can enjoy experiences that connect and inspire. We are deeply proud to receive this recognition.”

Bianca Siranni, Creative Producer at Byron Theatre, who accepted the award on behalf of the team, added:

This is a meaningful acknowledgement of our commitment to delivering quality arts and cultural experiences for our community. I am proud of our team and grateful to the Chamber for recognising the importance of creative organisations in the Byron region.”

Byron Theatre also champions original work through Byron Theatre Company, fostering collaboration and bringing Northern Rivers stories to the stage. Its flexible 300 square metre venue, with seating for up to 266 patrons, allows it to host a wide range of productions that enrich cultural life across the Shire.

The 2025 awards were announced on Wednesday 26 November at a gala event at Tokyo Doll.
