After a sold-out 2026 event, Byron Writers Festival will return to the heart of town from 20–22 August 2027.
The festival will return to the heart of Byron Bay from 20–22 August, with its next program and ticketing details due to be announced in the new year.
Byron Writers Festival will return to the Byron Bay CBD from Friday 20 to Sunday 22 August 2027, following a sold-out festival this year.
The 2026 event brought writers, audiences, partners and volunteers together in the heart of town. Organisers say they’re looking forward to building on that connection next year.
“We’re grateful to the writers, partners, volunteers and, of course, our audience who welcomed the festival so warmly into the Byron CBD,” said Artistic Director/CEO Jessica Alice. “We’re looking forward to further embedding the festival into the town and presenting another stellar lineup of writers, musicians and artists from around Australia and the world.”
Byron Community Centre General Manager Michelle Heuer said the centre was pleased to host festival events at Byron Theatre and Byron Spaces.
“We’re delighted to welcome Byron Writers Festival events to Byron Theatre and Byron Spaces, and look forward to seeing the festival return to the town centre in 2027,” she said.

Presented on Bundjalung Country each August, Byron Writers Festival brings writers, musicians and artists together for a weekend of conversation and creativity.
