Byron Yoga Centre Launches Pay What You Can Retreats Ahead of World Yoga Day

As World Yoga Day and Australian Yoga Week approach, Byron Bay's long-running Byron Yoga Centre is inviting more people to experience the benefits of retreat life through a new Pay What You Can initiative.

Founded in 1988 by John Ogilvie, the centre has welcomed thousands of guests seeking rest, reflection and reconnection through yoga, meditation and immersive retreat experiences. The new offering aims to make those experiences more accessible for people who may have been considering a retreat but are facing financial constraints.

"Yoga is about coming back to yourself - in a way that feels both accessible and supportive," said Ogilvie.

A limited number of retreat dates are now available under the Pay What You Can model, allowing participants to choose an amount that reflects their current circumstances while still accessing the centre's full retreat experience.

Guests will take part in daily yoga and meditation sessions, enjoy nourishing meals and have time to rest and recharge within the centre's peaceful 30-acre retreat environment.

According to Ogilvie, the initiative is designed for people who feel called to step away from the demands of everyday life but need greater flexibility to make that possible.

"This offering is for those who feel the pull to step away, reset, and reconnect… but need a little more flexibility right now," he said.

The centre says the experience itself remains unchanged, with participants receiving the same program, accommodation and support as standard retreat guests.

"We'd truly love to welcome you here when the timing feels right," said Ogilvie.

For nearly four decades, Byron Yoga Centre has been a cornerstone of the region's wellness community, helping establish Byron Bay's reputation as one of Australia's leading destinations for yoga, mindfulness and holistic wellbeing.

The Pay What You Can retreats are available on selected dates and places are limited.
