House You is a movement to get everyone a home by uniting the community to fulfill our needs. We believe basic human rights are not for sale and seek to activate a world organised for need, not profit.

Byron Shire has the most rough sleepers in NSW, moving house is one of the top 5 most stressful things a human experiences and we have thousands of empty homes. While the government spends billions of our common wealth (taxpayer dollars) on nuclear submarines, tax cuts for the rich and deaths in wars, custody, and illegal occupations; it’s clear they aren’t coming to save us from the crises of our time: ecological, housing and humanitarian.
So we need to unite as a community to solve the problems of this capitalist system and take care of each other from the bottom up. With enough land to house everyone, let’s share our resources. Leave no one outside. Move beyond housing for profit. Get everyone a home!
THIS IS A CALL OUT TO ALL:
mob and custodians, homeless and landless, van lifers, renters, investors, developers, and land owners, philanthropists and entrepreneurs, visionaries, artists, designers, tradies, engineers, and architects and YOU!

Join the village for a weekend of community unity, solidarity and holistic solutions to get everyone a house. Bring your time, skills, knowledge, energy and resources to address the needs of this community.

No Fixed Address - Where is my hot shower?

Everyone deserves basic human rights: a safe residence, a bed, a shower and a toilet.
NO FIXED ADDRESS is a legal term for a homeless person with no permanent residence: a rough sleeper, car dweller, van lifer, couch surfer, visible and invisible; individuals, families, careers, domestic and farm animals.

The House You Village is all about the community. Connecting people to create sustainable, meaningful and positive change for each other. With such abundance, an equitable world is possible.
If you have an offering, bring it. If you need something, tell us. Grassroots people power takes a village, so we need everyone to join the movement.

We present our Village proposal and our findings from November 5th Popular Assembly (Housing Forum) and August 9th FIX THE HOUSING CRISIS Rally to the Byron Shire Council Planning Meeting to create meaningful change in our community to tackle homelessness and offer holistic solutions to the housing crisis.
