What's On: Stories in the Dark

Tickets on sale now for the Year 11 Drama production of Debra Oswald's ‘Stories in the Dark'

Rehearsals are in full flight for the Year 11 drama production of Debra Oswald's ‘Stories in the Dark' - a play that will both confront and uplift audiences. Students are acting as both cast and crew for this production, taking on acting and technical support roles such as sound, lighting, and stage crew, and working tirelessly both in class and outside of school hours to bring the play to life.

The themes presented in Debra Oswald's ‘Stories in the Dark' will resonate with current world events. With a distinctly Eastern European feel, the conflict happening in the story is a stark reminder of the experience of civilians surviving the War in Ukraine. The play showcases the power of storytelling to provide hope, escape, and comfort during a time of loss and survival.

Under the direction of CAPAL Head Teacher Ms Simone Museth and Dave Houston (Full-On Theatre) and with the stage management and creative support of Pete Walker-Smith, Debra Oswald's ‘Stories in the Dark' is gearing up for public performances Tuesday June 20, Thursday 22 June and Friday 23 June to be held in the PAC at Byron Bay High School from 7pm. Tickets are on sale here now with discounts for students and family groups.
