Half-Light: The Autumn Equinox Celebration at Frida's Field

Join us on Saturday, March 21st to celebrate the Autumn Equinox, when the sun shines directly over Earth's equator causing day and night to be equal in length and the Southern Hemisphere welcomes the first true day of Autumn. An intimate gathering of just 50 guests, this is a chance to step away from your routine and connect with nature and others. Come and celebrate the small joys of life - walk the fields, gather around the fire, share food, drink, and conversation—be present, be merry, and make this equinox truly unforgettable.

This one-night-only progressive dining experience is unlike anything we’ve ever done before. Guests will move around the farm, enjoying different courses with paired beverages at different stations; exploring spaces normally closed to the public. Arrive as the sun begins to dip, bathing the fields in golden hour light, and be welcomed with a canapé and cocktail inspired by our seasonal farm harvest. Next, gather around the outdoor BBQ for substantial seafood canapé cooked over fire and paired with a glass of bubbles. Move on to the orchard for another canapé with a bubbles top-up ready for your lantern-lit guided stroll across the farm as twilight descends. A sit-down two-course individually plated meal inside the barn follows, featuring premium Wagyu beef and carefully selected paired beverages. To finish, gather at the fire pit for an interactive dessert experience, complemented by hot chocolate and storytelling.

Canapés

  • Smoked and sour cherry tomato

  • Kohlrabi and fermented daikon

Starter

  • Wood-fired flat bread, grilled Ballina prawn, lemon and vanilla vinaigrette

Dinner

  • Spanner crab custard, trout roe, dashi butter

  • Wood-fired wagyu beef, roasted seaweed puree, grilled onion

Dessert

  • Beetroot and fennel seed marshmallow

  • Chocolate and tarragon bon bon

NB - special dietary requirements can be catered for if we are notified in advance (at least 48 hours notice required).
