BreastScreen NSW Mobile Unit in Byron Bay
29 September – 24 October 2025 | Cavanbah Centre, Byron Bay
BreastScreen NSW is bringing its mobile screening unit to Byron Bay, making it easier for local women to access regular breast checks close to home.
The unit will be based in the southern carpark of the Cavanbah Centre (off Ewingsdale Road) from Monday 29 September to Friday 24 October 2025.
Regular two-yearly mammographic screening is recommended for women aged 50–74, while Indigenous women are encouraged to screen from 40. Early detection plays a vital role in reducing the impact of breast cancer, with 1 in 7 Australian women developing the disease in their lifetime.
Appointments are free and can be made online or by calling 13 20 50.
For those unable to attend in Byron, screening is available year-round at the permanent BreastScreen NSW clinic at Tweed Heads, located at the “Old” Tweed Hospital site, Ground Floor via Powell Street.
