Byron Community Market

Creative Energy and Coastal Vibes Return to Byron Community Market this August

Laila Trees

Local art, live music and handmade treasures come together by the sea on Sunday 3 August.

The Byron Community Market returns on Sunday 3rd August, offering a vibrant winter gathering of art, music and local culture by the sea.

Held at Main Beach foreshore from 8am to 2pm, the market brings together over 200 stallholders, showcasing everything from handmade fashion and homewares to artisan food, gifts and original artworks. It’s a chance to shop, connect and celebrate the region’s creative spirit, all with the ocean as your backdrop.

“Byron comes alive on market day,” says Carl Taylor, Markets Manager. “There’s something about the combination of salt air, live music and incredibly talented local makers that creates real magic. The energy is always warm and welcoming.”

Among the returning stallholders is Laila Trees, a beloved local artist known for her detailed, nature-inspired watercolours. With a Fine Arts degree from the UK and a multicultural upbringing across Provence, Wales, India and the US, Laila’s work is a celebration of connection and natural beauty.

“The Byron Markets have such a warm, creative energy,” she says. “It’s not just about selling art. It’s about community, connection and sharing stories face-to-face.”

Her stall features original artworks, prints and cards infused with love, light and a deep appreciation for the natural world. Her best-selling piece Rainforest Tree invites viewers to look closer, with native birds hidden among local trees.

The August market will also feature live performances from Laverde Trio, Martin Lartigau and Anna & Jordan, a laid-back, soul-stirring soundtrack to your Sunday by the sea.

Come and experience a day of creativity, connection and community at one of Byron’s most iconic local events.
