At Byron Yoga Centre, we believe yoga should be accessible to all—regardless of age, experience, background or bank balance.
To honour this belief—and in celebration of World Yoga Day—we’re opening the doors of our Byron Yoga Studio for a full day of free yoga classes. Whether you’re a long-time yogi or brand new to the mat, you’re warmly invited to join us.
Free Yoga Community Day!

What to bring: We’ll supply the yoga mats and props, you bring a water bottle, and an open heart.
Spaces are limited for each class—book now to avoid missing out!
About our Byron Yoga Studio classes
Established in 1988 by yogi legend John Ogilvie, we’re one of the longest-running and most well respected Yoga and Wellness Centres in Australia.
The yoga we teach is Purna Yoga, which is alignment based hatha yoga with intelligent sequencing that John Ogilvie developed after many years of experience. Purna, meaning integrated or complete, incorporates not just the physical postures but also meditation, pranayama breath control, philosophy and the yogic personal and social code of ethics. You can learn more abour Purna Yoga here.
These classes are taught by our experienced yoga teachers as well as our 10685NAT Certificate IV in Yoga Teaching trainees who are part way through either their 200 hour Level 1 or 300 hour Level 2 training.
A percentage from our Byron Yoga Studio community yoga classes is distributed to the following charities: Food for Life, Rainforest Rescue, Amma’s charities and The Buttery. This allows the Studio to offer back to the community which has given so abundantly, and enables us to put our commitment to living the philosophy of yoga into action. All our classes are suitable for all level of practitioners, and options are given for beginners.
Our vision has remained steadfast—to make yoga accessible to all, without exclusivity.
