“Over the Top Shop” Opens in Byron Bay Industrial Estate
Our Timeless Threads Launches New Community Hub with Fashion, Fun and Purpose
Our Timeless Threads, a newly registered not-for-profit organisation founded by registered nurse Maia Willow, is thrilled to announce the Grand Opening of its “Over the Top Shop” (OTT Shop) in the Byron Bay Industrial Estate. The launch party will be held on Sunday 21st September from 2pm, inviting the community to celebrate fashion, sustainability and intergenerational connection in true OTT style.
The OTT Shop is more than just a store - it’s a community hub for collaborative creation, where pre-loved clothing is reimagined into purposeful garments for aged care residents and beyond. By combining sustainability with dignity-focused fashion, the shop supports older Australians while tackling fashion waste head-on.
“Clothing is about more than what we wear - it’s about dignity, joy and identity,” says founder Maia Willow. “The OTT Shop is our way of honouring stories, sparking joy and creating a vibrant space where community, creativity, and care come together.”
The Grand Opening event promises to be a colourful celebration:
Live DJ setting the soundtrack for fun photo shoots and dancing
Games and activities for all ages
Locally catered food and drinks
A chance to dress to the nines in your favourite era, embracing full OTT fashion flair
As a fundraiser, all proceeds will support Our Timeless Threads’ growing initiatives: immersive pop-up shops in aged care facilities, creative workshops that promote wellbeing and sustainable upcycling projects that transform textile waste into useful protective wear and stylish clothing for elders.
