Live Life in Colour at the 2026 Byron Seniors Celebration
A colourful celebration of Byron’s seniors community at the Byron Community Cabin on Thursday 12 March, 10am - 2pm
The Byron Community Cabin will come alive with colour, movement and connection on Thursday 12 March as the Byron Seniors Celebration returns with this year’s theme, Live Life in Colour.
Hosted by Byron Bay Seniors and supported by Byron Community Centre, this much-loved annual event celebrates the creativity, resilience and vibrancy of the local seniors community.
The free community gathering will feature a joyful program including theatre, tai chi, storytelling, hula dance and a shared lunch, creating space for seniors to reconnect with friends, meet new people and enjoy a day of celebration together.
Free tickets are available online, with a suggested $5 donation on the day to support ongoing programs and activities for the Byron Seniors Club.
The program begins at 10am with a Theatre performance by Still Here Theatre, followed by a Tai Chi demonstration with Baz Thomas, Storytelling with local students and a shared community lunch. The afternoon continues with a Mana Aloha Troupe Hula Dance led by Lilith Rocha, and concludes with Dances of Peace with Anna Parker.
There will be raffle prizes, conversation and plenty of time to reconnect with friends and meet new people.
Event organiser Pippy Wardell from Byron Bay Seniors, with its tagline Live to Move, said the celebration is about bringing people together in a warm and welcoming way.
“We created Live Life in Colour as a way for our seniors community to come together, share stories, enjoy performances, move their bodies and simply spend time with one another. It is always such a joyful day and a reminder of how much creativity, wisdom and spirit our seniors bring to this community.”
Michelle Heuer, Acting General Manager at Byron Community Centre, said the event reflects the strength and spirit of the local seniors community.
“Live Life in Colour is such a beautiful reflection of what our seniors community is all about - connection, creativity and celebrating each other. A heartfelt thank you to Pippy and Byron Bay Seniors for bringing this event to life. It is not just about the program, it is about the conversations, the laughter and the sense of belonging that stays with you long after the day ends.”
