Free Mental Health Support for Northern Rivers Residents

In the aftermath of what has been a challenging time for the Northern Rivers community, mental wellbeing is an important aspect of our individual and community health.

The EMERALD Program is a personalised coaching program supporting mental health and wellbeing, offered to all residents of the Northern Rivers region.

Facilitated by the Thompson Institute at the University of the Sunshine Coast, the 8 week evidence-based telehealth support program is free of charge and promotes proactive wellbeing for our community.

Experiencing mental health related challenges is a common reality in our society. It’s important to both acknowledge and seek support when you’re not feeling well.

According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics in 2020-21, 1 in every 7 Australians aged 16-85 years experienced high or very high levels of psychological distress, and a feeling of loneliness. 61% of the people feeling this way took actions to help manage their mental health, which resulted in:

37% increased their level of exercise or physical activity
29% practised thinking positively
28% did more of the things they enjoy

The EMERALD Program promotes proactive wellbeing and helps you to adopt healthy habits that can help you feel better - now and into the future.
