Northern Rivers Food Announces 'Taste The Harvest'

THE FIRST IN A SERIES OF SPECIAL TASTING EVENTS LEADING UP TO THE 2024 HARVEST FOOD TRAIL FESTIVAL

In a joint collaboration with Byron Bay Visitor Centre, local food lovers and visitors to Byron Bay will have the chance to taste and buy delicious products on-site from three of the region’s finest food and beverage producers, from 10am-12.30pm on Thursday 30 November.

Northern Rivers Food, the peak membership body created by local food industry people to represent and promote our region’s proud food industry, has announced the first in a series of ‘taste and buy’ sessions in collaboration with Byron Visitor Centre.

Known as the ‘Taste the Harvest’, the tastings are one of a series of small events planned for the region, leading up to the annual Northern Rivers Food Harvest Food Trail, which will take place over four days in 2024, from 23 May to 26 May.

Our first ‘Taste the Harvest’ event features the extraordinary food and beverages of three of Northern Rivers Food’s finest member producers:

Brookfarm will be offering free samples of its famous award-winning premium macadamia muesli.

Nimbin Valley Dairy will be offering free samples of its divine Pot Set Natural Yoghurt, and

Zentveld’s Coffee Farm & Roastery will be offering free samples of their superb, locally grown Arabica coffee and chocolate coffee beans!

All three producers will also have their products available for sale.

‘Taste the Harvest’ will take place from 10am-12.30pm on Thursday 30 November at Byron Visitor Centre in Railway Park, 80 Jonson Street, Byron Bay. Everyone is welcome!

Now in its 9th year, Northern Rivers Food’s Harvest Food Trail is an opportunity for Northern Rivers Food members to showcase their amazing food and beverages, produced here in the Northern Rivers. The event aims to boost community resilience and cohesiveness by supporting our local farmers, hospitality businesses, food producers and growers to recover from fire, flood and COVID, and come together to reconnect and celebrate the bounty from our extraordinary food bowl.

2023 was a huge success, with fantastic feedback from both participating venues and visitors alike. We had over 40 participating businesses, and in 2024 plan to extend the Festival to run over four days, with even more events and opportunities to participate and enjoy.

Our Taste the Harvest events are a fantastic opportunity for food lovers to get a ‘taste’ of what’s in-store in 2024.
