Between Wound & Repair

Between Wound & Repair

Northern Rivers abstract expressionist artist Jo Kaiser presents Between Wound & Repair, a new solo exhibition exploring the emotions, experiences and fractures we often carry quietly.

Working intuitively with oil, mixed media and hand stitching, Jo creates layered works shaped by emotion and response. The stitching becomes a physical expression of both fracture and repair, reflecting the exhibition’s themes of recognition, connection, restoration and healing.

The artworks have deliberately been left untitled and unexplained, inviting each visitor to interpret them through their own experiences and emotions. Visitors can write down a thought, feeling, memory or response and display it alongside the artwork, creating an evolving collection of shared interpretations.

More than an exhibition, Between Wound & Repair becomes a conversation between artist, artwork and audience, guided by Jo’s belief that “when we connect we find our sameness”.

Jo has developed her abstract expressionist practice for more than 25 years. She is also an Art Therapy Practitioner who facilitates creative experiences focused on expression, connection and rediscovering creativity.
