Byron Firies Relay

Byron’s Firies Relay Surf Club to Lighthouse for Movember

Saturday 22 November, 6am–2pm | Byron Bay Surf Life Saving Club

Byron Bay’s local firefighters are lacing up their boots - and suiting up in more than 18 kilograms of firefighting gear - for the second annual Byron Firies Relay, raising money and awareness for Prostate Cancer through Movember.

Over eight hours, 14 firefighters will take turns relaying between the Byron Bay Surf Club and the Cape Byron Lighthouse - a 6km round trip - all while carrying full protective equipment and breathing apparatus.

This family-friendly day will also feature fire truck tours, a kitchen fire simulator, fire hose demos, a sausage sizzle and a special appearance from Bernie Cinders, the Fire and Rescue NSW mascot.

When: Saturday 22 November, 6am–2pm
Where: Byron Bay Surf Life Saving Club, 2/10 Bay Street, Byron Bay
Why: Supporting men’s health and raising funds for Prostate Cancer through Movember
