Life on Land’s Edge
A musical odyssey to the ends of the earth and back
Life on Land’s Edge lands at Byron Theatre this July for a cinematic concert experience blending music, science and breathtaking imagery.
Presented by The Bowerbird Collective, Life on Land’s Edge follows the extraordinary journeys of migratory birds as they connect continents, cultures and ecosystems across the globe. Featuring acclaimed musicians Simone Slattery and Anthony Albrecht, the performance combines live music with immersive soundscapes and spectacular footage to tell one of nature’s most powerful stories.
Created by the team behind Where Song Began and Songs of Disappearance, the 60-minute performance celebrates the 125th anniversary of BirdLife Australia and showcases works by composers including Philip Glass and Antonio Vivaldi, alongside new commissions inspired by bird migration and Australia’s fragile coastal habitats.
Following the performance, audiences are invited to stay for a short Q&A with the artists.
