Reclaim the Night: Standing Together for Women’s Safety
The Northern Rivers community will come together in Lismore for Reclaim the Night, a powerful annual event calling for the safety, dignity and equality of women and girls.
Held locally since 1988, Reclaim the Night provides an opportunity to speak out against gender-based violence, honour those affected and stand together for a future free from violence, harassment and fear.
Acclaimed comedian, writer and social commentator Mandy Nolan will host the evening, with actor and advocate Madeleine West appearing as keynote speaker. Local speakers Beth Hamilton from Zonta and Marnie Davis from Women Up North Housing will also share insights into efforts to support women and strengthen community responses to violence.
A community march led by local percussion group Repercussion will fill the streets with powerful rhythms in a visible demonstration of solidarity and hope.
People of all ages and backgrounds are invited to attend and help reaffirm the shared responsibility to create safer, more respectful communities.
