Thrust Issues – A New Comedy by Joshua Sasse

What: Thrust Issues – A New Comedy by Joshua Sasse
When: Wednesday 19 August – Saturday 22 August 2026
Where: Byron Theatre, Byron Bay

The Darling Theatre Company premieres Thrust Issues, a bold new comedy written and directed by Joshua Sasse that blends laugh-out-loud humour with heartfelt insight into modern relationships, friendship and the stories we tell ourselves.

What begins as an ordinary classical book club quickly spirals into an outrageously steamy fairy fantasy, blurring the line between fiction and reality. As the group's secrets, desires and vulnerabilities emerge, the real drama unfolds beyond the pages, revealing the unexpected connections that can form when pretence falls away.

Packed with razor-sharp dialogue, cheeky humour and genuine emotional depth, Thrust Issues is a fast-paced, irreverent production that's equal parts hilarious and thought-provoking. Featuring a talented local cast, the premiere promises an entertaining night of theatre with plenty of heart—and just the right amount of mischief.
