Twice the Byron Magic: Double Markets during October Long Weekend

Byron Bay will come alive with two vibrant market experiences over the October long weekend, as the Byron Twilight Market launches its new summer season on Saturday 3 October, followed by the Byron Community Market on Sunday 4 October.

Locals and visitors are invited to enjoy a full weekend of local creativity, delicious food, live music and community connection, with each market offering its own distinct Byron atmosphere.

The weekend begins on Saturday evening with the return of the much-loved Byron Twilight Market at Railway Park. Held from 4pm to 9pm, the artisan night market will bring together local makers, artists, designers, food producers and musicians beneath the Byron stars.

Byron Markets Manager Carl Taylor said the opening weekend was the perfect opportunity to celebrate the creativity and community spirit at the heart of Byron Markets.

“We’re excited to launch the new Twilight Market season with a full weekend of markets in the centre of Byron Bay,” Carl said. “The Twilight and Community Markets each have their own unique vibe, but both are about bringing people together, showcasing local talent and giving small local businesses a welcoming place to connect with locals and visitors.”

The celebrations continue on Sunday with the Byron Community Market, held from 8am to 3pm at Main Beach. Byron’s original market has been bringing the community together since 1987 and offers an eclectic mix of handmade products, fashion, art, food, homewares, wellbeing, live entertainment and family-friendly experiences.

Community Market Coordinator Natwah Petruszka said the double-market weekend would offer something for everyone.

“There’s something really special about seeing Railway Park come alive on a warm Saturday evening and then welcoming everyone back for the Community Market beside the beach on Sunday,” Natwah said. “It’s a wonderful chance to meet the people behind local businesses, discover something original, enjoy great food and live music and experience the relaxed community atmosphere that makes Byron Markets so unique.”

The October long weekend also marks the beginning of the 2026–27 Byron Twilight Market season, with the market continuing every Saturday from October through to April at Railway Park.

Stallholder applications remain open for local makers, artists, food producers and creatives interested in joining the Twilight and Community Markets.

Byron Markets are operated by Byron Community Centre as a social enterprise, helping support more than 300 local businesses while generating funds for vital community programs and services, including Fletcher Street Cottage and Byron Seniors.
